Corrie Cooper, LPC-A

I’m passionate about working with people who are navigating addiction, compulsive behaviors, or the lingering effects of trauma. Life can feel incredibly heavy, especially if you’ve been through a lot. Sometimes, substances or compulsive behaviors become a way to cope—and while they may bring short-term relief, they often create even more pain in the long run.

Reaching out for help can feel impossible. The weight of stigma, shame, and past experiences can make it hard to believe change is possible. And even when someone does seek support, the nature of addiction can make it difficult to stay engaged in treatment, leaving people feeling stuck in a frustrating cycle.

While traditional approaches can be helpful, I’ve found that healing often requires something more creative, more flexible, and more compassionate. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients in ways that aren’t confined to one specific method. Therapy with me might involve talking—but it doesn’t have to stop there. We can explore nonverbal approaches too. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you find what truly works for you.

I often work with people who feel stuck in patterns—unhealthy relationships, codependency, low self-esteem, or difficulty setting and maintaining boundaries. These struggles are common, but that doesn’t make them easy. If you’ve ever thought, “How will I ever get through this? Nothing works,” please know you’re not alone. Healing is possible—and you don’t have to do it on your own.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll probably find me outdoors, practicing yoga, making art, or spending time with loved ones. I’m also often chasing around my two energetic Boxers, who keep life interesting (and a little chaotic—in the best way).
